Tamale Technical University (TaTU) is a public technical university located in Tamale, the capital city of the Northern Region of Ghana. The institution was established in 1951 as a Trades Training Centre and later upgraded to a Technical Institute. In 1992, it was further upgraded to a Polytechnic, and in 2019, it was converted into a Technical University. Admission Requirements
To gain admission into Tamale Technical University, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants:
- Must have credits in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and three elective subjects relevant to the programme of study.
- Must have a minimum grade of C6 in English Language and Mathematics.
- Mature Applicants:
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Must pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination conducted by the university.
- Must have at least two years of relevant work experience.
- HND Applicants:
- Must have a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a relevant programme from a recognized institution.
- Must have completed their National Service.
